Centurion sizzling this summer despite the rain!
Summer 2006 season moving on despite all the rain

The 2006 Summer season is moving on well despite all the rain over the last couple of weeks. Round six’s games were played this past week and there are only 4 weeks left before the semi-finals.

Thanks to some intensive treatment and lots of rain the field s at Centurion Rugby Club is currently in awesome condition.

In the Super League both Quins and Golden Oldies are on 31 points with the former in 1st place on the log due to a better points aggregate. Both have lost a game with 1979 on 5 points in third place, they lost to Quins by 4-10 on Tuesday, The Oldies were much too strong for the pink fitted Konel Elektries..

The Vetseuns log leaders in Divsion 1 is one of only three sides that have been unbeaten this season, with 6 victories in as many matches. On Tuesday they beat 2nd placed ACT by 2 points. The Moute lost 7-8 to The Incredibles in a pulsating game, while Sunday Special and Saadsakke played to a 9 all draw.

The Untouchables were touched and beaten by 5 points by Roekeloos, who top the Division 2 log. The men from SAB are well placed on 25 points even though they lost to Titans by 4 points. The Titans are in third position and are also yet to be beaten, they have only played 5 games. The guys from Outsurance insured in their first win of the season beating fourth placed Global 10-6.

Chuck Norris seems to be the man albeit in the form of the Chuck Norris XV, who are on 18 points in first place in Division 3. Next best are the Skymen, with 16 points they lost by 3 points to the Landrover Midrand side. All Whites are third having beaten fourth placed Aerosud.

Contrary to their name the Kaas & Wyn side are still going strong; despite losing 7-15 to Nyamazan. They are comfortably ahead of their nearest rivals Simba Kaaskrulle at the top of Division 4. The “Krulle” are on 18 points; they were involved in a close game on Tuesday eventually beating Aerosud Interiors 10-9. The Boerbulle were too good for The Swamp Donkeys who had only 5 players.

The third unbeaten team the Waterats are 5 points clear of SFP in division 5, they beat thirds placed Blazers by three points. The orange touch down team beat K-dawers 10-8 to be placed in fourth place. Good luck to all the teams for the rest of the season, we hope you enjoy it!

Big Summer season on the go!
The 2005 Summer season, and 10th anniversary, of touch promised to be big and it is! A total of 41 sides are strutting their stuff at Centurion and we are already in our fourth week.

Round 4 brought with it some fine touch and thank goodness much warmer weather, a week earlier it felt as though we were still experiencing winter!
The Dragons pulled of their first win of the season (in the Super League) over the Kiwis and are all of a sudden placed in 4th position after 1979 defeated Dot 6-5. The Oldies were on the receiving end vs. Quinn’s who are still unbeaten. In a tense tussle Konel (in a BRIGHT pink attire this time around) kept their unbeaten run in tacked with an 8-6 victory over Knights. Division 1 is undeniably a tightly contested; as the Moute and Titans drew 9 all and Roekeloos in last position are only 4 points within a spot in the top 4.

Division 2 has 3 teams that have won 2 and lost 2, they are Ouma Ruskkss, Sharegate and Sunday Special. The latter were stretched by the Chippendales from PEC before winning 11-9. The Windpompe beat Sharegate by 5 points; their closest game was vs. new guys Kaktus, who held them to a 7 all draw.

Global, top of the log in Division 3 suffered their first defeat at the hands of Outsurance. The latter moved into third position on the log, ahea5thd of Team Castle who lost 5-8 to the All Whites. Team Plaasvark are currently in fifth position and only lost by appoint to the men from Gras groen who are in second place. In this Division only 5 points separate the log leaders and bottom place.

In Division 4 both Skymen and Kaas & Wyn had large victories over Mondi and AEROSUD respectively. Outlaws are but a point away from top spot (currently held by Kaas & Wyn) they had the better of the Swamp Donkeys with a 12-8 win.

The Simba Kaaskrulle fought hard to get one over the men from Monte Casino with a 9 tries to 7. Second placed n Division 5 is Blazers who beat Lucky 13 11-5. Team Plumb-it came back well in round 4 with a 5 all draw vs. S.F.P, last week they got a hiding from the Casino men.

Touch Down comfortably leads the way in Division 6, with 17 points and a whopping 25 point difference. Team Ulti were the unfortunate ones this time around, slumping to a 6-16 defeat. They are however still jointly second on the log with Teba Tubbies on 11 points. Elsewhere Proton got their season back on track with a fine win over 30 something.

There is only one round left before the second round of the round robin stage takes place and Things are sure to hot up.

Keep in touch online and bring along the fans!

However this is only a temporary fault and it should be resolved soon.

The fixtures for the upcoming Semi-finals will be placed on the website before the end of the week.

2005 Summer season draws to a close...
This past Tuesday the finals of the 2005 Summer season were determined at Centurion. Gathering from all the spectators that showed up even from the first games it was a very enjoyable evening. This despite the winter having arrived.

At 18:15 the finals of Division 5 & 6 were played. The Swamp Donkeys took first prize in Division 6 after a tight game against the Blazers. 3rd prize went to Touch Down. In the first of 2 games going into extra time the Madalas scored after more than 3 minutes to beat Kaas & Wyn and take the gold in division 5. The other cheesy team Blou Kaas beat the Super Dassies 12-9 the to win bronze.

Division 4 was once again won by Hasbeens, they finished an unbeaten season by only just beating Outsurance by a single point. Mondi another new team beat USN for the bronze. In their debut season The Jets made a name for themselves by beating last season's winners Graas Groen 6-4 in Division 3. In the other extra time game the Outlaws scored first to claim the bronze against Online.

The only other unbeaten side this season were The Konel Elektries side who, in their all pink attire, were too strong for the Knights. The Knights did very well however to walk away with the silver medal considering that last season they were still playing in Division 5. The new teams really did well this season, in that Hari - Kiri also won a medal with a 9-3 victory over The Dream Team.

By 20:30 everyone knew that the winter was here, but there were still a lot of interest as the Super League and Division 1 finals were determined The Dagha Boys finished an unbeaten run of 5 matches by beating last season's winners the Moute to take home the gold in Division 1. The Aussie Super 12 team name sake ACT solutions was victorious over Mix & Match for the bronze.

The Super league final were a tense affair despite the score line of 9-1. This one yet again went to The Golden Oldies, over Quins. It was sweet revenge for the Oldies as only 3 weeks ago they were beaten 3-8 by Quins. Dot escaped with a narrow win of 9-8 over last season's runners-up 1979 for the bronze medal.

In 2 Touch would once again like to thank ALL the teams AND players for taking part this season including the supporters for making it an enjoyable one. We appreciate your support. Thanks must also go out for the refs who officiated during the season. Enjoy the break, we hope to see all of you back again for the winter season starting the 7th of June.

Stay in touch...
Semi-final time @ Centurion
The 2005 Summer season, has flown by and come Tuesday it will be all teams for themselves as they take on one another in the semi-finals. The semi-finalists were determined the past Tuesday, and the scene is set for a number of fierce battles.

In the Super league last season's finalists the Golden Oldies and 1979 will face one another to play against either Quins or Dot in the final. 1979 has lost all 3 of there last games so they will have to deliver to oust their old enemies (who lost only once this season), but it should be a good game. In the other semi, Dot will be out for revenge against Quins who twice had the better of them this season.

In Division 1 Dagha Boys, coming off 3 victories in a row will play ACT Solutions, whom they beat 2 weeks ago by a single point. Moute will play Mix & Match in the other semi-final.

The Dream Team will face the formidable Konel Elektries team in the one semi-final in Division 1. The new kids on the block, Hari-Kiri will play the Knights in the other semi final and all 4 will only know there fate by the end of the evening as both games are scheduled for 20:30.

In the very competitive Division 3 Online, who lost to The Jets on Tuesday, face Graas Groen(they were held to a 7 all draw against the 5th placed all Whites). In the round-robin games between the 2 teams Online got away with 2 narrow wins. The Outlaws and The Jets, another new team this season, take on each other in the other semi final, the winner will then have to wait until 20:30 to see who they will play in the final. The Jets won the last encounter between the two, in fact The Jets last tasted defeat back in round 6.

The first semi-final in Division 4 sees Outsurance taking on USN. In their last encounter Outsurance were on top with 8-6. The all conquering Hasbeens will meet Mondi in the 2nd semi-final, they have been undefeated the whole season, The closest a team came to beating them was when USN managed a draw against them in the first round and they have never looked back since.

The Super Dassies will be up against it when they meet the Madalas in the one semi-final of Division 5, the Madalas only tasted defeat once this season. The game against BlouKaas and Kaas & Wyn will be anything but a cheesy affair as in Round 8 the latter scraped home 8-7 when they last played each other.

Last Tuesday was in the end a dress rehearsal for the semis in Division 6, as the teams will play the same opponents this coming Tuesday whom they faced then. After Tuesday however there will be no more chances and therefore Touch Down an Riff- Raff will be out for revenge against the Blazers and the Swamp Donkeys respectively. The Swamp Donkeys will want to keep there hopes alive as they lost only 3 times this season.

This Tuesday promises to be very exciting, the teams are all set to go so it should be great...
Round 7 @ Centurion
Things got underway again on a rather wet night on Tuesday after the Easter weekend lay off. Luckily all the games were played with the rain having stopped not long before the games had to start, that left only yours truly wet...

Following Tuesday's results, the Super league have been split in 2 divisions. The bottom 4 teams will now compete in Division 1, while the other 3 will try and with hold the Golden oldies from another gold medal. The Oldies are yet to be beaten this season. The Knights and The Dream team got their campaign back on track again in division 2 with victories over Hari-Kiri and Roekeloos respectively. Hari-Kiri still tops the log however and is only one point ahead of the unbeaten team of Konel Elektries who had a bye this week.

There were two 2 point results in division 3; Outlaws beat All Whites 10-8 and Online beat Graas Groen 11-9. Outlaws, 2nd on the log are only 3 points behind, the 1st placed Online.

Hasbeens comfortably tops the log in division 4 and boasts a points difference of 70 points. Elsewhere in the division USN suffered their 2nd loss in succession at the hands of a resurgent Outsurance team. It seems as though they ARE getting more out... Division 5 also split up in 2 divisions. BlouKaas, Super Dassies (who pipped Swamp Donkeys for a division 5 spot) and Kaas & Wyn will be out to stop the Madalas.

The Swamp Donkeys will be out to prove a point in division 6, having only lost twice this season and still could not secure a place in division 5. Time is running out for semi final spots in the other divisions so next week should be interesting.
Happy Easter from In 2 Touch
In 2 Touch would like to wish everyone in touch a Happy Easter, we hope you enjoy the break.

We would also like to remind all teams that due to Easter and the subsequent public holidays that there will be NO touch on Teusday the 22th and Thursday the 24th of March and therefore touch will commence again on the 29th and 31st of March.

In 2 Touch Pretoria would also like to wish all teams representing Northern Gauteng the best of luck for the upcoming Inter Provincial Tournament taking place in Durban this coming weekend.

Norhtens will field 3 teams consisting of 2 men's' sides and the Ladies' side.
Summer touch heading towards half way stage
The 2005 Summer season is happening and progressing rapidly towards the half way stage. This week teams will contest the 6th round. Up until now the weather has also held and there hasn't been any cancellations, apart from 3 games a couple weeks ago at Harlequins that was called off due to some lightning and heavy rain. Ironically the rain stopped after 10 - 15 minutes let's hope we don't have any other cancellations. At Centurion we've had nothing of the sort - YET.

The 1st half of the season delivered some interesting results, with a couple of divisions tightly contested especially the 1st division at Harlequins. There have been 4 draws already and only 6 points separates the log leaders from bottom place. At Centurion teams are also gunning at one another especially in Division 3 and 5.

All the new teams have settled in nicely and a couple of them even surprised some of their older counterpart's in their respective divisions. It's great to see that teams are enjoying the touch and bringing along lots of supporters. They have definitely helped to create a great vibe in the bar- keep it going!

At Centurion as well as Harlequins half of the teams have registered their payers on the website - WE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND YOU THAT WE HAVE EXTENDED TEAMS' OPPORTUNITY TO EARN ANOTHER 3 POINTS FOR REGISTERING 6 OR MORE PLAYERS ON THE WEBSITE TO ANOTHER WEEK; THEREFORE THIS WEEK I.E. ROUND 6 WILL BE YOUR LAST CHANCE.

Another reminder is that there will be NO touch the week of the 21st of March and that round 7 will commence the week thereafter i.e. the 29th of March at Centurion and the 31st at Harlequins.

We hope all teams will enjoy a Happy Easter, and savour the one week break. We are sure you'll be rearing to go come round 7.

See you there...
AANDAG ALLE SPANNE
