Touch will be played on Thursdays and NOT on Tuesdays as initially stated. All teams are encouraged to enter today to avoid missing out on all the action. All the fixture for divisions 3 and 4 have been determined and are up on the website, games up to round 5 have been scheduled for the other 3 divisions. In the case of the Super League and Division 1, every team from each division will play one of the other weekly, when they are not involved in a fixture against a team from their division. This is to secure all teams get to play a game, every week, as there are 5 teams in both divisions. Games for the first five rounds in division 2 are also on the website. It comprises of 6 teams, games for round 6 and 7 will be determined as follows; Following the first 5 rounds each division will be split (i.e. three and three each); the teams ending in either the top or bottom half will then play one another once again. On the basis of these final league standings the semi – finals be scheduled as follows; The top two teams of each split division will then contest the semi–finals in a cross pool fixture. N.B. From round 6 each team will have to play 2 games in either round 6 or 7 and subsequently have a bye the other week. (This will complete the total of seven league games) Every week one mixed team will have a bye. Good luck to all the teams we trust you will enjoy the season! All new winter season coming up… The winter season of touch at Harlequins is less than 2 weeks away and will bring with it a couple of changes: TUESDAY night touch Unlike teams have come accustomed to 6 Down will be played on TUESDAY’S this season, and NOT on Thursday’s. The reason being that the rugby club has moved up to the main clubhouse, and have training on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. 1 POINT FOR LADIES TRIES The other significant change applies to the Mixed division; from now on ladies’ tries will have the value of 1 point and NOT 2 points. A lot of thought was put into this and the overall feeling was that the game has developed well among the ladies and we do not see any reason why a try scored by a lady should be awarded 2 points as opposed to 1 point for men. With ladies and men’s tries worth the same value, it should also encourage teams to involve ladies in general play more often. We hope and trust that teams will familiarize themselves with these changes and that in time all will benefit from it. The first taste of Tuesday night touch will be on the 7th of June when the grading games will be played. The new season will be played over 10 weeks. Each team will play one another once, followed by the semi-final and final in weeks 9 and 10 respectively. The term and conditions for the season is up on the website, teams and players are encouraged to register there teams and players online. There are also a number of new features on the website from which teams and players will benefit, all the fixtures etc. are loaded on the website and are easily accessible by logging on to www.touchrugby.co.za. The moment a player is registered on the site by the team organizer, he/she can log in with an e-mail and password that will be assigned by the organizer. All of this and a brand new season await us. Happy Easter from In 2 Touch In 2 Touch would like to wish everyone in touch a Happy Easter, we hope you enjoy the break. We would also like to remind all teams that due to Easter and the subsequent public holidays that there will be NO touch on Teusday the 22th and Thursday the 24th of March and therefore touch will commence again on the 29th and 31st of March. In 2 Touch Pretoria would also like to wish all teams representing Northern Gauteng the best of luck for the upcoming Inter Provincial Tournament taking place in Durban this coming weekend. Norhtens will field 3 teams consisting of 2 men's' sides and the Ladies' side. Summer touch heading towards half way stage The 2005 Summer season is happening and progressing rapidly towards the half way stage. This week teams will contest the 6th round. Up until now the weather has also held and there hasn't been any cancellations, apart from 3 games a couple weeks ago at Harlequins that was called off due to some lightning and heavy rain. Ironically the rain stopped after 10 - 15 minutes let's hope we don't have any other cancellations. At Centurion we've had nothing of the sort - YET. The 1st half of the season delivered some interesting results, with a couple of divisions tightly contested especially the 1st division at Harlequins. There have been 4 draws already and only 6 points separates the log leaders from bottom place. At Centurion teams are also gunning at one another especially in Division 3 and 5. All the new teams have settled in nicely and a couple of them even surprised some of their older counterpart's in their respective divisions. It's great to see that teams are enjoying the touch and bringing along lots of supporters. They have definitely helped to create a great vibe in the bar- keep it going! At Centurion as well as Harlequins half of the teams have registered their payers on the website - WE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND YOU THAT WE HAVE EXTENDED TEAMS' OPPORTUNITY TO EARN ANOTHER 3 POINTS FOR REGISTERING 6 OR MORE PLAYERS ON THE WEBSITE TO ANOTHER WEEK; THEREFORE THIS WEEK I.E. ROUND 6 WILL BE YOUR LAST CHANCE. Another reminder is that there will be NO touch the week of the 21st of March and that round 7 will commence the week thereafter i.e. the 29th of March at Centurion and the 31st at Harlequins. Soos gesien kan word op die foto is dit duidelik dat groot skade, aan die velde aangerig so geword het as ons voort gegaan het om te speel.
