Here is a full update from all of us here at In 2 Touch, as of Tuesday, 17 March 2020.
Following the governments advice issued on 16 March 2020, all O2 Touch leagues run by In 2 Touch will be suspended from 17 March until the 14 April 2020, subject to a continued review from the advice of the government.
The government has recommended no unnecessary travel or social gatherings, and while there was no specific mention of sporting events, we have decided to follow the advice and other national governing bodies such as the RFU in suspending all of our organised activities for the time being.
We understand that many of you will be disappointed by this news. However, the decision has been taken following governments advice and we hope everyone understands that the welfare, safety and interests of everyone associated with our sport is of the utmost importance.
All current leagues and the Early-spring leagues due to start on the 31 March, 1 & 2 April have been suspended from today, 17 March.Teams currently playing or who have already signed up for these leagues will be contacted separately giving a further update and what will happen going forward.
We do understand that the latest governments advice does not prohibit outside sporting activity, so where possible, we’d encourage everyone to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following governments guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.
In 2 Touch will continue to review and monitor governments advice and will provide regular updates on the impact of the coming seasons to all teams and players.
The Spring leagues beginning on 20 April will still go ahead as planned, unless further advice from the government is released.
