Glasgow Active Touch Raises The Bar

Last night saw the second league night of Glasgow Active Touch.  The teams were raring to go and this was clear for all to see with the enthusiasm and effort displayed in all games.  The Glasgow Cats and BlueJays were chasing the West Coast Pride after 2 wins from 2 games last week and this week was always going to be more challenging.

The Cats played a great game against the top of the table Pride and in a low scoring affaire, managed to push the Pride to a 9 all draw.  The game was fast, frantic and demonstrated some high quality play to get great scores.

BlueJays were struggling for numbers but this didn't stop them giving the Cats a run for their money.  The Cats had a blistering start and the BlueJays couldn't keep up but as the BlueJays found their rhythm they started playing the running game and tore the Cats defense apart which created an exciting last 15mins of the fixture.  In the end, the Cats were just too strong and fitness told byt the 30min marker.

In the final game of the evening, the BlueJays stepped up their efforts and sensed a potential victory against the high flying Pride.  The game was nip and tuck and with 5 mins to go there was nothing splitting the teams.  With 2 mins to go the Pride edged ahead and managed to maintain their narrow lead to take the victory.

All teams are developing at a huge rate of knots and this is great for the overall development of the game, particularly with the National Champions of Champions event due to take place later this year.
