Last night was week 2 in the Aberdeen Active Touch league and saw the defending champions, Firebirds, play a double header. The speed and quality of the fixtures are firing on all cylinders with the passing and movement as high a standard as there is in Scotland.
The games are tight with a couple of scores separating the teams and even the unbeaten defending champs had 2 scares last night. Guerillas Black had the Firebirds under the cosh and pushed the Firebirds to the wire and missed out by 1 score going down 7-6. The Tigers ran in some fantastic scores but in the end went down 13-10 which shows the quality of all teams within the league.
Guerillas and Suncor had a cracking opening game and both teams showed their class with the movement and vision required to succeed with Guerillas taking the victory 10-4 but the game was significantly closer than the score line highlights.
Next week will see Tigers playing their double header, can they claw back some important points to close the gap on the Firebirds and Guerillas?
